Fish Oil-How Much Fish Oil?

Fish Oil: How Much Fish Oil?

By Bryon Zirker

All people should be taking in Fish Oil. Many studies have shown the benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids found in Fish Oil. The fatty acids in Fish Oil are critical to overall good health.

Knowing how much Fish Oil to take and which brand of Fish Oil to use is the burning question. The fatty acids EPA and DHA are the key to a good omega-3 supplement.

Most peoples diets are deficient in these nutrients. These nutrients are critical to brain, heart and overall health. Optimal dosages are yet to be determined.

Here are some recommended ranges:

900-2700 mg EPA
600-1800 mg DHA

When taking Fish Oil for a health condition or you are over 200 pounds lean toward the higher area of the mg range. Fish Oil for prevention, hit the middle of the range and for children stay in the lower range.

One problem though, Many standard Fish Oil supplement capsules only contain 180 mg EPA and 120 mg DHA. You may need to take 15 of these capsules daily. Wow thats a lot of pills to take.Go to the health food store and buy some of Carlsons Lemon Flavored Liquid Fish Oil.

A tablespoon has 800 mg EPA and 500 mg DHA. You will be glad you did.
