Fish oil supplementation is thought to be
helpful for pets that have inflammatory
diseases including allergies, arthritis,
kidney disease, heart disease, and some
cancers.

There are some people with diabetes that
have fatty acid derangement and require
supplementation; this is possibly true in
pets also. Fish oil has been shown to be
beneficial in people and pets with allergies,
kidney disease, and heart disease.

It has also shown benefits as an anti-
depressant in people who have mild depression.
Fish oil looks to have benefits in pets with
arthritis as well. Pets found to have any
inflammatory disease could possibly benefit
from fish oil supplementation.

To summarize, with more severe disease
requires doses higher than those commonly
recommended and most often additional use of
supplements are necessary as fish oil is not
often useful as the only supplement in the
fight for pet health.
